Walmart Foundation

Since December 2019, the Walmart Foundation has provided critical funding to support No Kid Hungry’s efforts to ensure families across the country have consistent access to meals to help their children thrive.

Families in rural areas face unique circumstances that contribute to and exacerbate food insecurity. To begin addressing these unique needs and identifying the solutions to end childhood hunger in rural America, the Walmart Foundation invested charitable support to fuel No Kid Hungry’s efforts in rural areas of Arkansas, Arizona, Louisiana, and Montana. From pilot projects in rural schools to support for national events, such as the Rural Child Hunger Summit, to providing real-time support during the Covid-19 pandemic, funds from the Walmart Foundation are helping No Kid Hungry connect children in rural communities with the healthy meals they need.

With the emergence of Covid-19, schools across the country closed and families were faced with unprecedented challenges as the impact of the pandemic was felt nationwide. No Kid Hungry remains committed to ensuring families can easily find free meals, especially at this time when schools and food banks are also struggling to keep up with changes. The Walmart Foundation is supporting No Kid Hungry’s collaboration with FoodFinder as we work to ensure families can easily access real-time resources that allow them to find programs in their community. Additional support from the Walmart Foundation is helping make possible a partnership with Socially Determined – through which we are combining our unique skills to further develop our strategies and ensure food is available where it is most needed
